The Door is Open Wide

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” ~ Revelations 3:8
One year ago, God opened an unexpected door for me when I traveled to Cambodia for the first time. It was my first trip to Southeast Asia, but not my first missions trip.

While our team was busy with construction at Teen Challenge, I started to imagine returning to Teen Challenge Cambodia to install a biogas digester system on their property in the Takeo Province. I didn’t have any details of how it would happen, just the idea. I didn’t have any money lined up nor did I have any people signed up to travel with me back to Cambodia. But I really felt like God had opened a door of opportunity.

So earlier this week, as I was eating food prepared by the Teen Challenge Cambodia cooks on the biogas (methane gas) powered stove, I realized that the idea had become a reality. 12 months of planning, collaboration, prayer, sleepless nights, walking by faith, and many mission team meetings later, I was on the other side of the door.

This morning, our team will conduct our second food outreach with Cambodian Care Ministries. We will have served more than 500 children a deworming pill and a small lunch by the end of the day. We are also teaching them a short, basic hygiene class about the importance of washing your hands, hair, and body.

Is there a door that God has opened for you?
