Built for Adventure

“Adventure is worthwhile in itself.” ~ Amelia Earhart

My grandson, Noah, loves new adventures. One of his recent adventures was a Birthday Party Safari at Zoo Miami for his third birthday. As we walked through the entrance of the zoo, he shouted out “‘venture, ‘venture” and began to run.

Fortunately, his parents had a plan for Noah’s enthusiasm. They had outfitted him for the safari with a toddler “leash” disguised as a monkey backpack. We took turns holding the leash and running behind him. His assumption was that every turn in the sidewalk would lead to something wonderful.  Noah was built for adventure!

I love adventures too.  One new adventure on the horizon for me is a trip to Monteillet Fromagerie in Walla Walla, Washington.  Founded by Pierre-Louis and Joan Monteillet, Monteillet Fromagerie was the first farmstead artisanal cheese facility in the Walla Walla Valley of Southeastern Washington, I will be traveling with a few friends in January 2017 to participate in the Monteillet’s 2-day farmstead cheese workshop.  We want to learn more about goats, goat milk, and how to make farmstead goat cheese. I have never made cheese in my life but I’m so excited to learn, especially because what we learn we will share with our friends at Cambodian Care’s new Goat Bank.  Since the goats have recently given birth, we know creating goat milk products are a future possibility.  Who knows where this bend in the sidewalk will take us?

Do you love new adventures? Is there a new adventure you’d love to begin?
