I am traveling this week and thought I would repost this article from December 2012.

Have you ever felt like you were running out of time? I have.

I thought I was running out of time on on December 30, 2012. The last day that RF Orchids would be open in 2012. I didn’t think I could get there before they closed. RF Orchids is located in Homestead, Florida, an hour away from my home. I had promised myself that I would walk through their greenhouses one more time in 2012. It was my last chance. Oftentimes when I am rushing around, I feel like I am running to catch up with time or running out of time. Driving on the turnpike that day, I felt like I was running out of time.

 

Since then, I have been determined to change my perspective on time. I am tired of rushing around! Before God initiated creation, time did not exist. There was no need for time. Time is something God created for us to measure with clocks, calendars, and schedules and to mark with birthdays, seasons, and anniversaries (Genesis 1:14-15). Time provides no analysis or judgments. We can’t catch up to it. We don’t even know how much of it we will have, but it will never “run out.” So instead of saying “I’m running out of time”, I am going to say “I’m running in time.” I am running in the time God set before me. There is enough time to do the work that God designed me to do. And there is enough time to enjoy the orchids.

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” (Ephesians 2:10 AMP)
