Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to yours!

We just received our “official” family Christmas pictures and I am amazed that another year is drawing to a close. So many great things happened in 2014, but there were many things that I never got around to doing. As I look at this picture, I realize that I am “maturing” fast. Will I have enough time and energy to do the things that I want to do in my lifetime?

According to Cardiologist Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein, it’s never too late to make a difference. In fact, Dr. Sackner-Bernstein makes this assertion:

“Age is the advantage for those of us who want to make a difference.” ~ Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein

 

In his Tedx Talk, he discusses a number of noted scientists who made their biggest scientific discoveries after age 40. He mentions Dr. Alexander Fleming, the bacteriologist who discovered penicillin at age 47. Dr. Sackner-Bernstein states that Dr. Fleming had the:

*Skills,
*Experience, and
*Wisdom to see the opportunities.

His skills were gained through education. His experience was gained through years of systematic research. Fleming’s wisdom was a combination of his skills and experience. Age was his advantage.

So as I look forward to 2015, I am telling myself that age is my advantage. It’s never too late for a big idea.
